Waiting for the Next Brood!

After having 6 baby chickadees fledge, we patiently wait to see who is going to take our bird cam box next. It was chickadees last year so we hope to see another brood start soon. Remember this is a good time to check out any nesting boxes you have in your yard and clean them out if the first brood has fledged. It won't be used again this season if you don't clean it out... House Wrens excepted, but even they don't mind starting with a clean box.

Summer, or what has been passing as extended spring as of the beginning of July brings our next bird walk at Hildene with it on Saturday, July 18th. Once again, we'll be looking for fledglings and parents and more activity down at the marsh.

We start at 7:00a.m. and meet at the Welcome Center.
